Black Tuner · effective
Black Tuner collects no data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, uses no third-party services, and makes no network connections. Sound from the microphone is analysed on your device and never leaves it.
Microphone
While the app is open, it listens through the microphone to measure the pitch of your instrument. The sound is analysed in memory on the device, and nothing of it is sent anywhere. The last 10 seconds are kept in memory, continuously overwritten, so that the “Save Last 10 s” button described below can work; they are never written anywhere unless you tap that button.
You can turn microphone access off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone; the tuner then cannot work.
Recordings you save
The optional debug readout has a “Save Last 10 s” button. Only when you tap it, the last 10 seconds of sound are written to a file in the app’s own folder on your device (visible in the Files app), together with the tuning, reference pitch and app version used. These files leave your device only if you share them yourself, and you can delete them in Files at any time.
Settings
Your settings — pinned and custom tunings, reference pitch, tolerance — are stored on your device only. They are not synced or sent anywhere.
Children
Black Tuner collects no information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
